Finca Los Alpes is part of Cafetalera Buenos Aires, owned by Inversiones Valladarez Acevedo S.A., and is nestled in the scenic Dipilto Mountains of northern Nicaragua near the Honduran border. The farm's story began in 1955 when Luis Emilio Valladarez started growing coffee plants in the Dipilto region on his 6-hectare Buenos Aires farm. Today, the farm is managed by his son Olman Valladárez and has expanded to 100 hectares, representing the family's unwavering dedication to coffee excellence across generations.

The Valladárez family has built their reputation in the demanding world of specialty coffee by mastering every aspect of production. From agronomy and cultivation to processing, their approach is supported by a specialized team focused on research and quality control throughout the entire supply chain. Their commitment to separating crops by variety, experimenting with multi-process methods, and maintaining an unwavering focus on quality and improvement has positioned them at the forefront of Nicaragua's specialty coffee scene.

Over the past two decades, the family has consistently won awards at the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence and featured prominently in the Starbucks Reserve program. Most recently, Finca Los Alpes has achieved remarkable success by securing first place in the Presidential category at the Cup of Excellence in both 2023 and 2024 with their naturally processed Geisha variety. This back-to-back achievement represents consecutive years of excellence and stands as a testament to the dedication, discipline, and hard work of their well-trained team. The Geisha trees, grown from Panamanian stock with exceptional genetic potential, are the youngest on the estate and had their first harvest in 2023. The natural processing method highlights the variety's vibrant tropical notes.

ST.ALi has been buying coffee from Olman for many years, building a strong and trusted partnership based on consistent quality and shared values. Beyond their award-winning coffee production, the Valladárez family extends their commitment to the broader community through public health campaigns and celebratory events, fostering a sustainable and familial atmosphere where everyone involved enjoys the fruits of their labor.
