Ashok and Divya Patre are the visionary power couple behind Ratnagiri Estate, one of India's most celebrated specialty coffee producers. As third-generation stewards of this lush Chikmagalur estate, they've transformed their family legacy into something extraordinary. Ratnagiri translates to Pearl Mountains, a name beautifully reflected in the silvery hue that dense shade-grown silver oaks cast across the rolling hills. Since 1927, the Patre family has been perfecting their craft on this exceptional land, where high elevation, abundant rainfall, and nutrient-rich soils create ideal conditions for growing remarkable coffee.

What truly distinguishes Ratnagiri Estate is Mr Ashok's relentless pursuit of excellence. A true master of his craft, he combines deep knowledge of Indian terroir with cutting-edge processing techniques that are redefining what Indian coffee can be. Working alongside two dedicated microbiologists in world-class facilities, Mr Ashok meticulously tracks fermentation metrics to develop innovative methods that consistently exceed expectations. This commitment to innovation led to an exciting partnership with renowned coffee consultant and buyer Damian Durda, and together they're pushing specialty coffee in India to thrilling new heights.

This exceptional Selection 9 showcases their expertise beautifully. After 34 hours of carefully controlled anaerobic fermentation in custom-made bioreactors with lab-isolated microbes, followed by 26 days of patient drying on raised beds, the result is nothing short of spectacular. Expect an impressively fruity cup with luxurious body and captivating notes of cooked tropical fruit, sweet herbs and spiced rum. This is Indian coffee at its finest.
